The RockShox Flight Attendant Upgrade Kit for the Specialized Enduro makes you faster
The Flight Attendant Upgrade Kit by RockShox for your Specialized Enduro with SRAM DUB crankset includes electronic components for digital networking of your suspension. It represents the next logical step towards a connected bike and simplifies your ride. The main components are the ZEB Ultimate suspension fork, the Super Deluxe Ultimate air shock and the pedal sensor from the Flight Attendant series. The centrepiece is the control module on the suspension fork, which collects and evaluates sensor data and controls the chassis. The motor module on the shock sends data to the control module and receives the appropriate setting from it. The pedal sensor is retrofitted to DUB cranks from SRAM.
Using information from all the sensors, the Flight Attendant system recognises what is happening on the bike, whether and how hard you are pedalling, how much you are leaning to the side and what the trail is like. Based on a sophisticated algorithm derived from thousands of kilometres of trail riding, the system automatically adjusts to the appropriate setting on the shock and fork in a fraction of a blink: Open, Pedal or Lock. ” Open” uses the entire suspension travel on fast descents and absorbs large impacts. ” Pedal” absorbs minor bumps and reduces the compression for efficient propulsion. ” Lock” , on the other hand, delivers strong pedalling efficiency for long climbs and smooth surfaces. This makes the ride less complicated, where all you have to do is just ride and don’t have to worry about the finding the right setting.
Of course, you can also decide for yourself: in Manual Mode, you select one of the three settings yourself, either via an AXS Controller on the handlebars (not included) or directly on the Control module on the fork. In Auto Mode, the Flight Attendant makes the decisions. Using the Bias Adjust function, you tell the flight attendant which positions you prefer and thus adapt its behaviour to your riding style. Override Mode is a shortcut to your favourite position: if you desire, you can override the Auto Mode at the touch of a button and shift the system to a position of your choice.
Regular SRAM AXS batteries are used on the main components. These last for about 20 – 30 hours of travel. If a battery fails during the ride, the system switches to Safe Mode and moves the chassis to the Open Position so you can finish your ride safely. If the AAA lithium battery in the pedal sensor wears down too much, manual control is available in addition to Open Mode.
After assembly, starting it up is as simple as can be: connect all components, set the air pressure, low speed compression and rebound and then calibrate the system. To adjust multiple settings, you can use the SRAM AXS app.
The bottom line: the Flight Attendant Upgrade Kit allows you to automate your ride, spend less time thinking about your settings and go faster on the road.
